One thing that kept me busy the past week is the Christening and first birthday of my little girl. Finally after long months of preparation, it pushed thru last Sunday, a day before her first birthday. Her first birthday falls on a Monday so we decided to make it a weekend so more visitors would attend.
We had her baptized in Pasay City since my first born was baptized there too. My original plan for their baptism would be somewhere in Makati but I don't understand why churches are so strict with their requirements. One thing that opted me to choose the church in Pasay because it doesn't require one of the major requirement which is CHURCH MARRIAGE. Since J and I went on a civil marriage so we are not allowed in their churches. I wonder how popular personalities get their babies baptized in churches that requires church marriage for parents? OH.
When I was filling out a paper, I noticed a check box option--type of marriage: wedding, civil, natural and others. J got curious and asked one of the ladies from the church what natural marriage is and they said that if both parents are living together without marriage. The others option include if the parents are from other religion and would want their babies baptized in a Catholic church. Pretty interesting huh?
Moving on, since we decided to have it done on the same day, we had to choose between 11:00 in the morning and 3:00 in the afternoon. Since my baby girl's birthday was scheduled in the afternoon exactly the same time, we opted for the morning schedule. I didn't know that Sunday baptism was mass baptism so imagine one third of the church is filled with babies! They held a seminar also which lasted for an hour so just imagine the weather that time plus grumpy babies inside the church.
Here are the photos:
the headbow and tutu dress I made for my little girl fits her perfectly
We had the reception at Pizza Hut in Macapagal. Decided not to have it fancy since we are going to attend a party in the afternoon and the baptism ended up later than 12 noon so everyone of us were so hungry and opted for a fastfood.
Little girl finished a plate of spaghetti
kuya finished the mushroom soup and a plate of spaghetti also
We had the Pizza HUt group feast for 8 people which includes 1 Super Family Supremo Tuscani Pizza,1 Family Spaghetti Bolognese with Meatballs, 2 Family Caesar Salad, 8 Cream of Mushroom, Unlimited Pepsi and we ordered additional honey bbq chicken. We only spend less than php2,000 for our lunch/reception for little girl's Christening
This little boy tried on the party hats because of the pictures of cars on it.
That's the simple celebration of AJ's Christening.
How about you? How did you celebrate your babies' Christening?
