Let’s talk about shapes

If there’s one thing I am guilty of is I never get the chance to sit down at least 30 minutes with my son to teach him about shapes, numbers and alphabets. But please don’t judge me because I don’t have a helper that’s why 24 hours a day is not yet enough for me.

When I do my domestic duties, I babysit the kids watching tv with their favorite videos. I make sure to limit it to at least three hours only. But still there are times that I exceed because multi-tasking is not yet enough to give them more attention.

But every chance I get to teach my kids with the basics I do it. The rest of what it’s in their memory bank is from the videos they watch and everyday, applications installed in the ipod and conversation we have here at home. I am quite surprised on how he identifies some things that I know I haven’t taught him yet. I am just happy that at least he has a retentive memory in a 32month old body.

I always laugh every time I ask him to identify shapes but I am surprised that he can identify the basics already!

Circle – sirka
Triangle – kanggingga
Rectangle – wektangga
Square – kwer
Oval – ovo
Star – tar
Diamond – Diemon
Heart – hart

At first I thought he was wrong identifying shapes and other objects. But I was just not sensitive enough to hear what he was trying to say.
