Global Academy Open House

My family loves eating and our way of bonding is through good food, which explains our big dining room at home. But I am not gifted to have the exquisite skill in the kitchen and all I have is all self-help and self-improvement to be able to serve my kids and J a decent meal. Until now I still dream of being at least good at it.

Weeks ago I was invited by my fellow mommy blogger Krisna of Life As A Ceo to attend an open house at Global Academy. I really wanted to experience how is it to be inside a cooking class so I asked J to squeeze it in his tight schedule so I can attend! Good thing the event was held in the evening so hurray for me!

I was immediately stricken by Chef Ericka who was the host that night of how she manipulates the kitchen even if we were a bit late that evening. Their kitchen has one word for me—WOW! I thought if I would have that kind of kitchen I would be more inspired to cook every hour of the day.

They made four recipes that night namely; compressed watermelon with roasted prawns and citrus coriander dressing, dinner rolls with compound butter,  pan seared barramundi with papaya salad and lemon grass curry sauce and french macaron.

Looking at the finished product makes it untouchable because I know how hard the preparation was! I was a bit hesitant to even touch the shrimp with my fork because the presentation was nicely done. Two thumbs up for it. I guess for me it was hard because I am not equipped with the right tools and skills to do it.

My favorite part of the evening was the preparation of French macarons as it was our much-awaited recipe! We were all curious on how they prepare it and why is it soooo expensive. One bite costs you roughly about p35 in the stores but it is ssssooo delish and equally tempting! Oh yes, that means calories!

This event truly inspired me to try my best to prepare more decent meals for the kids and J. But first I have to ask J to make it to number 2 in the priority list to make the kitchen a decent place for a happy cooking.

If you want to try the recipes shoot me an email and would love to share it to you.
