As what I have mentioned from my previous post, we intend to celebrate D’s third birthday in a way he will enjoy his childhood and hone him to be an outgoing person. We want him to celebrate the beauty of life through outdoor activities as well as gain learning from it.
It has also been a tradition that we celebrate his birthday through an overnight stay in a hotel. This year, we went to celebrate his birthday in Momarco Resort. After posting his birthday plans here, a good friend Krisna of The Mudrabelle, suggested it and looking at the website it was one promising place.
We planned on a simple celebration. The celebration should include blowing of candle and opening of gift. At first we thought of giving him robot toy because he is recently engrossed aside from toy cars. But when he saw the pictures of bikes at the back of the Breeze detergent pack, he now asked for a bike. He even told us to buy one for her sister too.
So I ordered cake from my favorite supplier, Mamanee's Made With Love to make a customized ironman cake for D. J bought a bike after attending Y’s Birthday and I made some DIY decorations for his birthday. I wanted him to feel that it was his birthday not just the usual family outing.
The decorations were made plainly from scratch and it was all purely from upcycled materials (thanks pnterest). I made use of brown bag and cut them into shapes and glued them together for me to have a banner. The gift wrapper was also upcycled. It was a good thing though that we used upcycled materials because it was hard for us to hide his gift, as the colorful wrapper will only tickle his inquisitive mind. When it was loaded in the car until it reached the hotel room he never asked what was inside the not-so-presentable gift.
On the day of his birthday, we decorated the veranda area with my DIY banners as well some balloons from The 7th of October Party. Thanks to my cousin who was with us during that day that I was able to use extra hand to set up the area. He was so much delighted to see his robot cake and was so surprised to see his gift. “What tat?” Several times.
After we all enjoyed swimming in the morning and after our check out time, we went to visit their mini zoo, which houses few animals. Not only D was so delighted to see the animals but A as well. Their eyes were full of curiosity and delight to see the animals in their cages creating sound.
It was his simple, exhausting yet fun birthday celebration. Stay tuned for the second part. J
