48 Photos : Week 4 Texture

Image
Today’s concept is all about texture. I must admit that this work is a result of cramming but I like how it turned out anyway. I would like you to meet my tool in recreating a decent face, my Sigma brushes. This was a gift from ze Loverboy two years ago. I used hubby’s camou shemagh scarf to serve as a contrast on the subject and used my LED lamp to enhance the light. I only did minimal post process on the photo to retain the bokeh. Camera used: Nikon D7000 Lens used: Nikon 17-35mm I will see you again next Friday!

Today : A Is Sick

Image
Yesterday my little girl woke up calling “Boboy” instead of the usual “Mama”. Then, I went back to bed because I only got 3 hours of sleep then. But she continuously poked my eyes, which means, I have to get up and get going. In the afternoon, I decided to give ‘em a little treat since it’s a weekend. We passed by the grocery and grabbed some ice cream. But, I noticed she has colds! Uh oh. An hour after, she’s feverish already and was already bothered by her colds. So I had to tuck her and make her sleep. When she woke up from her nap, she was completely fine except she has runny nose and still feverish. But she still looks fine and was running around again in the living room. Then after dinner, I decided to give her medicines for her colds. It’s a struggle having to make her drink medicines. So I took out jellies and told her she can have one after drinking the meds. She was able to drink the two but the third one was a struggle. D was holding already the cup and tells her sister, “A,...

48 Photos : Week 3 Sunset

Image
I have never appreciated the beauty of nature before. I can’t be bothered by sunsets or even sunrise. In fact, I am no nature lover until I started working. Now that I finally opened my eyes and thoughts on how pretty nature is I began to appreciate every single thing. There was a sudden interest in me watching sunsets. I usually associate it with a bright tomorrow that suggests hope and makes me look forward for another sunrise. It amazes me how the color changes in matter of minutes and how evidently beautiful the sky is with its color gradient. So here’s my entry for the week, sunset in Manila Bay. See you again in the next challenge!

Today : Compassion

Image
D: Mama! Mama! Help! Hurry Hurry! A! The kids were playing inside their room while I finish the chores downstairs. I keep them busy by letting them play inside their room for me to finish my chores. But because D’s voice was worried and was really calling for help, I hurriedly went to their room. When I opened the door, A approached me immediately and uttered gibberish language but the only discernible word was “ouch” then points to her eyes. D on the other hand was also worried and told me that his sister has ouch and that her eyes were red and he kept opening A’s mouth. A was quite puzzled as to why her brother is opening her mouth. That was the scenario. Based on my assessment and upon entering their room, A was holding an airplane and her eyes weren’t so red. Probably she accidentally poked her eyes with the toy airplane the reason why it turned irritated. I am quite surprised how my son grows emotionally because he takes care of his little sister already. I would s...

I Won The Lottery

Image
I won the lottery! Yehey. Oops. I’ll hold it right there. I didn’t win the lottery literally; in fact I don’t even buy tickets. I won lottery because I have the feeling of contentment with my life like all I have wished for is right here with me (well, not all). The valentines day is over but for me, hearts day doesn’t only be the time to be inlove, in fact we should be inlove everyday for it is a commitment with our family/significant others. I came across a blogpost why marrying a nurse is like winning a lottery last week. Then I decided to make citations as to why we (yes we, not just me) have a win-win situation. Compassion. Being in my profession, we are entailed to take care of our patients the best way we can without showing them abhorrence despite encountering difficult patients most of the time. Glad that I found a compassionate person too! He takes care of us and provides what we need without complaining. Hardworking and Dedication. When it comes to call of duty, we should al...

48 Photos : Week 2 Favorite Place

Image
The place where my heart is fulfilled and feels happy is the bed with my sleeping kids that makes it my favorite place. When I look at them sleeping it feels like that I have survived the day and made them happy despite the struggle of discipline. My kids have vague positions when they sleep; to think that they have a bigger room and two queen-sized beds still I always find them together in one corner. Took this photo in low light and used LED lamp to serve as a light. Excuse the noise of the photo. Camera used: Nikon D7000 Lens: Nikon 17-35mm How about you? What is your favorite place? See you next Friday for the third photo challenge!
