I won the lottery! Yehey.
Oops. I’ll hold it right there. I didn’t win the lottery literally; in fact I don’t even buy tickets. I won lottery because I have the feeling of contentment with my life like all I have wished for is right here with me (well, not all).
The valentines day is over but for me, hearts day doesn’t only be the time to be inlove, in fact we should be inlove everyday for it is a commitment with our family/significant others.
I came across a blogpost why marrying a nurse is like winning a lottery last week. Then I decided to make citations as to why we (yes we, not just me) have a win-win situation.
Compassion. Being in my profession, we are entailed to take care of our patients the best way we can without showing them abhorrence despite encountering difficult patients most of the time. Glad that I found a compassionate person too! He takes care of us and provides what we need without complaining.
Hardworking and Dedication. When it comes to call of duty, we should always be available and give our best in whatever we do. I am so happy that I found a counterpart to my being hardworking and dedicated person. He works hard to provide for us and he is always there when we need him.
Multi-tasking. Imagine taking care of five patients, two of whom are category three and the rest is category two and we have to finish medications, sponge bath and procedures in an eight-hour shift. Yeah, we do multi-tasking all the time and I am just glad that I am molded to do multi-tasking. On the other hand, J would also juggle with all his responsibilities of being a father, employee, and a husband.
Bedmaking. Being taught in school and with lots of clinical application, we are the masters of keeping the bed tidy and make our patients comfortable. This time, I found a person who keeps the bed sooo tidy (pun intended) but, as a family it is where our heart is found. Being my favorite place and comfort zone is where we cuddle and play together. Well at least, I have the reason to do the bed properly.
But despite everything, I love because J simply make me tad crazy for some unexplainable reasons;
- When he asked me why the shampoo he used has no suds, it’s because it was a conditioner not a shampoo.
- When I asked him to bring me white dress exactly the way I described, instead he brought five white dresses and he almost took out all my dresses in the drawer.
- When I asked him to give me the milk baby lotion, he gave me Cetaphil lotion instead because he claimed it’s a lotion in a white container too.
- When I asked him to pick rice from the grocery, he got the most expensive one without an idea how to cook Japanese rice!
- When he asks me for his misplaced stuff (he kept himself), he would be rattled in an instant without trying to look first.
These are just few things that I have come to accept. After all, I just laugh at it and make me think how crazy I am for having to love him and how lucky he is for winning the lottery. Sounds fair right. Hmm, don’t argue Boboy.
I may not entrust him organizing teeny tiny stuff at home, doing groceries (because he doesn’t read labels), and cleaning the house but I will entrusted him our life and our hearts because I know very well he will handle it with care.
