Today: "Go go go!"

It’s naptime and kids are still running around the living room. A is still hyped but she kept the scattered blocks on the floor. I was able to give them a bath and tucked them to sleep. During naptime, they usually sleep separately. Dodo sleeps in the master’s bedroom room and A sleeps in their room. I normally join A sleep in their room because she cries every time I’m out of her sight.

I kept myself busy reading while killing time to finally wait for her to doze off. But like the usual thing she does, she gets her stuffed toys and play with them. She would pretend her stuffed toys are talking to each other in teeny tiny voices.

Forty-five minutes past and she is still widely awake and running around the room. And yeah, I dozed off for few minutes already. When I turn my gaze on her, she immediately told me, “go go go.” I think this was the reason why she doesn’t want to sleep, her tiny feet is itching to wander around.

I decided to get dressed and went downstairs with her and wait for few minutes in the living room. I thought she would change her mind because she saw some toys and started playing already. But no, she kept humming “go go go” and running around in circles and trying to convince me to go. I asked her then to keep her toys so we can go immediately but she answered me, “no, mad! (with palms on her elbow and fierce look)” Uh oh. I dropped her slippers on the floor while I got the keys and then the next thing I saw, she’s wearing her slippers and waiting by the door!

She was happily chanting few words and was giggling immediately after I closed the door. Her eyes were wandering and marching happily along the sidewalk. She points to the grass and plants we saw along the way and asks innocent questions. We went straight to the nearby grocery, (which is two blocks away from home) and got little stuff and headed back home. I didn’t hear her whine and saw content in her face. I think this little wanderlust-in-the-making wants to explore more of her outside world often. And yeah, those bliss are just some of the things money can’t buy.
