When I was in grade school Science has been my favorite subject alongside with English. I was eager to know all the rationale behind every thing that exists and how it came to existence. Maybe it was the reason why I landed a profession in the medical field.
I have been meaning to take the kids to the mind museum for a long time already but because the little girl was only a year old then; I decided to delay it a bit. But luck knocked on my door when I got an invite from The Mind Museum for their Media Family Day. The exciting part is, everyone of us can come and experience science at its finest. I cannot say no to a once in a lifetime opportunity like this especially when I know that it will be for the benefit of my kids’ curiosity (well sort of because it was us adults who had really fun).
My son who fancies robots was instantly stunned as we walk through the entrance and was greeted by Aedi. Even the little girl was also perplexed with the robot who is twice her size and continuously moves the head to sides and waves the hand to bid goodbye.
Walking inside the museum we see tons of objects and some of them are ginormous in size, which illustrates science. I can say that it would really catch the attention of the curious minds as they made it more colorful and interesting that not only captures young audiences as well as also the adults. It was like reliving the good old days during our science tours, only this time it’s more modern and very well illustrated in all sorts.
When we got there, we were given a passport along with the press kit and were asked to complete the stickers as the program has already started. We then went around with the kids and in every stop; the kids were awed with everything they saw. Dodo has endless questions as to what he is looking at and the things he sees everywhere. Let me take you to a virtual tour through photos of what transpired during our Mind Museum adventure.

Behind the orange ball is a dome which is the space shell where we watched a short film about the Back to the Moon for good where it highlights the history of exploring moon as well as some teams vying for the $30 million Google Lunar prize.
After the short film we went to the exhibition area and witness different ways to recreate theories. I was able to learn how to make lip balms in three easy steps too!
After filling our tummies and witness some exhibits, we went to the second floor and roam around the different exhibits there. My kids enjoyed every stop despite the fuzz.
Of course, we will not leave Mind Museum without having to try the Science Park. I wish we were able to come a little early. But nevertheless, the joy it brought my kids with having to experience everything Mind Museum has to offer was just priceless.
Do you have kids who are inclined to science? You may want them to maximize their potential in the field by enrolling them in the of-a-kind workshops Mind Museum has to offer.
C.S.I. 101 – is a comprehensive module on the learning adventures of basic forensic science. It consists of excellent workshops, for age groups 10-13 and 14-17 years old. The participants will be divided into teams that will gather and analyze evidence from crime scenes, as well as present their cases to a panel of Investigators. “Staged” crime scenes make this supremely exciting! Winning teams and participants that perform extraordinarily well will be awarded badges at the end of the program.
There is also a Forensic Art workshop for the 18-25 age group which will introduce the participants to methods like composite sketching and forensic photography that are used to aid with solving cases.

MARINE SCIENCE CAMP w/ CALIFORNIA ACADEMY OF SCIENCES, in AIYANAR BEACH & DIVE RESORT, ANILAO BATANGAS – is an outdoor adventure for families to create a deeper appreciation of the marine environment through science. Participants get to know more about marine biodiversity & ecosystems, with an add-on astronomy/stargazing session at night! Together with our partner, the California Academy of Sciences who will be sharing their expedition stories as well as share marine observation tools, we will engage our participants as they learn responsible snorkelling and the basics on coral reef surveying. Take a dip and literally look into the ocean’s coral reefs!

The JMMs will learn deeply about the Museum exhibits, as well as creative science communication through experiment demonstrations and activities on the different fields of science.

SOCCER SCIENCE is both a full soccer game and a science workshop! A worldwide favourite, this sport will be understood through the lens of science. This program aims to help people see the many physics principles at play in a game and how knowledge of physics and science in general can help improve their performance. People who have no knowledge in football but are interested in science will also enjoy dissecting the forces that causes curve balls, the trajectories of long shots, and the anatomy of a skilled player. What is more is that they will work with a “secret” kind of ball with powers that we bet you have never known before! Understanding soccer can help you play better!
Program Schedule & Rates:
Ages 13 to 22 years old
- May 14-15 | 9am-5pm at The Mind Museum, 6pm-8pm at BGC Turf
