ACLS Medical Training and An International Giveaway

[PRESS RELEASE]

Los Angeles, CA, Wednesday, May 07, 2014 – ACLS Medical Training applauds the heroic, lifesaving efforts of Oregon Governor John Kitzhaber, who performed bystander CPR on a stranger in Portland this week. Gov. Kitzhaber’s showed that knowing CPR and acting when needed can make a difference. To honor the governor’s quick thinking, ACLS Medical Training will provide free Basic Life Support training to the first 25 people who sign up on the ACLS Medical Training Website.

According to KGW-TV news, Gov. Kitzhaber was on his way to dinner on Monday when he spotted an unconscious woman lying by the side of the road with someone trying to help her. The governor acted quickly, instructing his driver to pull over and call 911. The woman was not breathing, so Kitzhaber began to perform CPR. Paramedics responding to the governor’s call arrived minutes later and took over treatment. EMS transported the woman to the hospital and she is expected to live, according to the governor's office.

“Knowing CPR is half the battle,” states Dr. Tim Henry, Director of Cardiology at the Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute and American Heart Association Heart & Stroke Hero. Dr. Henry adds, “Only 6 out of 10 cardiac arrests are treated by emergency medical services. We know that bystander CPR saves lives, but 70% of people feel uncomfortable providing it. Gov. Kitzhaber is a trained ER physician, but he performed the same lifesaving skills that anyone with Basic Life Support training knows how to provide.”

In an effort to increase the number of people trained in CPR, ACLS Medical Training is donating BLS certification training to the citizens of the United States. “We want more people to know how to perform CPR so they are more likely to provide it when the time comes, just like Gov. Kitzhaber,” states Thomas James, Director of Customer Experience at ACLS Medical Training. ACLS Medical Training provides certification training in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Basic Life Support. The ACLS Medical Training website, created by physicians and nurses, also provides a free, comprehensive Training Center for anyone who is interested in learning life support and rescue techniques. “We have always had a strong interest in educating the public because we know that it saves lives” states Mr. James.

In lieu with the Nurse’s week celebration, and in an increased efforts of educating people to provide first aide care as deemed necessary when situation calls for, ACLS Medical Training would like to giveaway one free online course certification in either BLS, ACLS or PALS  (valued at $275).

Important Note: (Anyone is eligible to join, nurses or other medical professionals who are required to have these certifications. These customers can live in any country that accepts courses based on the American Heart Association guidelines).
