Laundry Tips and Essentials

Image
Early this year, I made a wish list that includes a front load washer. When it comes to our laundry, I am very meticulous as to how our clothes are well taken care of. Luckily, midyear I was rewarded with a frontload washer. So laundry is now an easy-peasy task for me. Let me share with you some of my laundry essentials: Laundry organizer. If you can have lots of it, it would be much better. I use it to sort socks, underwear and small clothes for small people. Lol. Clothes pin hanger. I use this to hang socks, underwear and hankies. Hangers. Clothes rack. I use indoor clothes rack because it is more convenient for me to hang and fold clothes as well. Plus the ventilation and heat from the room has dual purpose. Laundry Tips: Sort the dirty clothes especially underwear and place it in the laundry organizer. Make sure to sort it according to color to prevent color stain and to prevent tangle of clothes inside the washer. When you take out the laundry organizers from the washer, it will b...

Jelly Nelly: Walk in Style and Comfort

Image
Footwear. One thing I love most that at some point in my life I came to obsess. Anything that makes my feet sexy and comfortable, I am for it. I am glad that fashion trend is a cycle where it comes back with a few revisions to details. My mom would usually claim that the fashion my sister and me were “in” has already been years ago. I am glad that brands tend to keep up and over time they make fashion pieces remain the same with a surprising tweaks on it. Who would’ve thought that the jelly flats would have a sweet smelling scent? I remember the ones I used to own has been the comfiest ever (minus the scent). Now, Jelly Nelly sandals has introduced their new line of Jelly Sandals, which has the sweet scent, the only pair I had which has the sweet smell. I love these pair too because it will never strain your feet when walking and you won’t even notice that you’re wearing any! To a mom like me who walks all the time to keep up with the tots' energy, I would love to have something th...

Creamy Spinach and Mushroom Fusili recipe

Image
This weekend was quite an exhausting one for me juggling between the roles of being a mom, nurse, educator and manager of the house. Since I haven’t been gone to the market to buy out food for the coming week, I opt to do my lazy meal instead. This time I made it healthier by incorporating spinach and shiitake mushroom to the recipe. You know how I love Shiitake mushrooms right? Plus it’s a healthy alternative protein. So here it is:   Ingredients: 250g Fusili Pasta, cooked 3 pieces dried Shiitake mushrooms, rehydrated and cut into strips 1 cup Spinach Leaves Bay leaves 1 ½ cup Fresh milk 1 tbsp all purpose flour One medium sized white onion, julienned 3 cloves garlic, minced 2 tbsp Oyster Sauce Salt Pepper Olive oil Parmesan cheese Direction: Boil fusilli pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside. Drizzle pan with olive oil and sauté garlic and onion. Add in mushroom and spinach. Saute for another one minute. Add fresh milk and add in flour mix until combined. W...

The Playful Sick Kids

Image
Over the weekend, the kids woke up sneezing and coughing. It wasn’t a good sign since it’s always a daunting task making having them take their medicines and worry about their crankiness. Then hours later, the little girl was already febrile and again, not a good sign. She was puking her food intake and can only tolerate fruits. During the past few weeks, I must confess that I have been a monster mom. I get pretty stressed from the not-so-petty things around the house. Even though I am already used to whatever mess they make but the fact that the little girl effortlessly gets things that aren’t supposed to be touched beyond her eye level is what makes me more stressful. Just imagine what could possibly happen if she fell? Sigh. Apparently, the febrile and sick little girl didn’t stop her from being so playful and much worse her energy that needs burning tripled! Honestly, I couldn’t really keep up with them! So when she was afebrile the whole Sunday morning, I decided to take them to t...
