Going green: Cloth Pads

Have you ever-imagined life if there are no disposables? Honestly, I don’t and I thought I would never survive it because I was born to a world where disposables were already a thing. Not until.

It was almost a month with everyday day use of disposable napkins after I gave birth that I started itching and feeling very painful on the perineal area. It has never been itchy and this time it was terribly itchy, burning and it was just unbearable. Then my OB told me probably that I wore too much disposable napkins that cause the allergy. She was right.

That moment, I finally decided to switch to cloth pads. At first I was quite ambivalent of using it because I just don't like cleaning bloody discharge and sure does takes time. But when I thought of the day that I had the burning sensation, I chose to do the latter than not being able to sleep soundly because of it.

You know what? It really wasn't that hard to make the switch. The feeling was quite different from using disposables but the benefits it would bring are remarkable. Imagine you not spending money every month to buy disposables as well as running to the grocery stores when you are out of it. It is one way also of helping reduce the wastes generated everyday. Best of all, it just feels like you are wearing underwear minus the redness and urticaria.

There are different types of cloth napkins; some are for heavy, medium and light use. You can choose depending on your flow. It also has a lot of designs to choose from. It might be quite pricey compared to disposables but it can be worn several times and even years so it will be a big savings on the budget in the long run. These cloth pads can be bought online on Facebook.

Together, we can help save mother nature one cloth pad at a time.

Have you used one? Share your thoughts.
