Cloth Diaper System During Rainy Season

Summer is finally over and we are saying hello to rainy season! Honestly, I am quite ambivalent of the weather right now since the weather has been very bipolar. But what we can only do is to deal with it right?

For us cloth diapering mommies, we are more than happy for the Mr. Sun since it gives us a lot of benefits and I am sure most of the cloth diapering mommies can relate to this. We love Summer sans the expensive electric bills.

For the rainy season, I use flats and cover combination. I use two brands of cover which is the Flip Diapers from Cottonbabies and Nicki's diapers. Both are US brands and bought from online sellers. For the flats, I use the regular Lampin (Bird’s eye) which was a hand me down from us siblings to my children and there are different ways I use covers and it’s combination inserts.

Microfiber Insert sandwiched in Lampin + Cover

Microfiber Insert inside a Suede sock + Cover
Flip insert + Cover
Flip cover (one side suede and other side layers of microfiber)
However, what I love best is the second style because flats dries easily during rainy season together with covers. Poop stains also are easily removed from it without having to rinse it several times. You just need to know which insert works best for you. You also need to note the drying time of each type of insert so you can assess on which to stock up more. As for the diaper cover, it will really depend on how much your child use everyday.

There are different cloth diaper covers available in the market now. You may try other brands too but for me, I prefer the ones from Cottonbabies which is Flip Cover, because of the cute prints and fits perfectly my son.

How about you? Have you tried this kind of system for your child? Let me know in the comment section.
