It's summer and what better way to maximise our kids' activities? As parents, how do you want their summer to be productive and at the same time learn new things and/or hone the skills they already possess?
My daughter for the past year has been so inclined with arts that she could spend hours painting, drawing Dinosaurs of all sorts and coloring her artworks. Despite the mess she makes in her room, I let her give space in order for her to be at her best in her creativity. My son, on the other hand loves robots. He likes to build, destroy and recreate all his toys that sometimes, I scold him for loosing some of its parts. But then, I remembered again, when they attended the workshop several years ago at Engineering for Kids, according to them, it is the kids' curiosity that allows them to be creative and recreate the things around them. True enough, even if he disassemble things, he would still create new and unique set of robots everytime.
This year's iShine Talent Camp hosted by Ms. Toni Gonzaga together with Ms. Dimples Romana, and the experts in their fields; Dr. Lourdes Tanchanco (Developmental Pediatrician), Dr. Leticia Ho (Clinical Psychologist Neurologist), Ms. Jong Icasiano (Head of Nutrition Wyeth Philippines), shared their insights with regards to their experiences and how to nurture gifts/talents of future generation.
So what is the difference between gifts and talents? According to Dr. Leticia Ho (Clinical Psychologist and Neurologist), "it is an above average performance in a certain area. Gift is usually related to academics such as Math, Science and etc. Talent is an above altitude average or a certain aspect of human performance."
A talent if properly developed, becomes a gift.
Letting them explore on their own is essential to discover and nurture their true gifts. For instance, motivating kids to participate in various activities is a good opportunity to discover their interests. Aside from stimulating their creativity, doing this will also help push children to explore their full potential.
While they are young, allowing your kids to realize their talents is helpful in honing their skills. And as parents, we can be the number one support that they need.
To help nurture our child’s gift, PROMIL® Four i-Shine® Talent Camp 6, a venue for children to play and learn, continuously commits into helping the next generation of talents and allow them to discover and develop skills set focused in the field of Art, Engineering, Dance, and Music.
Yvette Villegas, the brand manager of PROMIL® Four, said that the i-Shine® Talent Camp 6 brings a whole new fun, and learning experience for parents and their kids.
“We’re so excited to finally open the most exciting PROMIL® Four i-Shine® Talent Camp 6 yet, where we will witness, once again, the awesome talents of the young participants,” Villegas added. “This year, we are also bringing back our camp masters on board, who will help discover, nurture, and inspire their talents so that they will shine brightly.”
This season, the PROMIL® Four i-Shine® Talent Camp 6 showcases four different workshops namely, Music, Dance, Arts, and Engineering. During the launch, the kids get to experience the workshops of each of the camp masters. All of the kids were excited to try out what it is like to be in their camp. My kids on the other hand are excited to try Teacher Robert's art class and wants to enroll in his class this summer!
