Sumer is here and reminiscing through my childhood these are the times when the elders would tell us not to share combs amongst cousins so as prevent the spread of lice. We play all day until we sweat. As kids, we never really thought of taking care of ourselves most especially our hair and getting infested with lice.
Ever since kuto or head lice existed, there have
been hearsays on how to eliminate these tiny blood-sucking parasites passed on
from generation to generation and have my fair share of horror ways of removing it and later on realized that it was hazardous after all.
Head lice and mayonnaise do not mix
Head lice can survive up to 6 hours in suffocation and it basically means you
have to leave the mayo spread on your kid’s hair for a long time. This tedious
way, however, do not kill head lice and nits. Thus, solving your kid’s head
lice infestation using mayonnaise can be counterproductive as nits can become
adult after a few days and head lice infestation can reoccur.
Kerosene is unsafe for your kid
Kerosene is dangerous and let alone inhale its fumes. What more if you apply it all over your hair and let is sit until the lice are dead, worse case scenario, our hair might get burned rather than killing these pesky lice.
Nit-picking
comb isn’t a nitpicker at all
An adult lice produces up to 100 eggs and
using a nit-picking comb to eradicate lice can be endless. Hundreds of these
nits can turn into adults in a matter of days and will cause your kid the same
inconvenience, not to mention the sting that a nit-picking comb brings to their
scalp.
Head lice infestation has
become ordinary among Filipino households and parents are taking act on it
through alternatives. However, this can actually be treated in a proper way
such as consulting your doctor or, the more affordable way, using a head lice treatment
shampoo such as Licealiz.
Licealiz Head Lice Treatment
Shampoo effectively kills lice and nits after two weeks of use and prevents
lice infestations from recurring. Its active ingredient, pyrethrin, a natural
extract from chrysanthemum flowers, is clinically tested and proven safe and
successful in killing lice and nits while its conditioning formula keeps your
kid’s hair soft, smooth and fragrant.
