I understand your concern being a first time mom. We have no idea yet what we are doing let alone if we are doing right for our kids. As a mom, all we want is the best for our children, nothing else. I would like to share with you some of my take aways from the recent Cetaphil event I attended for mommies.

As you all know, Cetaphil has been in the market for as long as I can remember. I have been a Cetaphil kid also during those days when my skin went really dry. And being a mom myself, I want also my kids to get the same care as I did back then.
Please bear in mind that our baby's skin is very sensitive and prone to all the irritants there is in the environment. In here are some tips and my take away from Dr. Leelin's talk at the event.
- Do not use harsh materials.
- Avoid using products with alcohol, dyes, and fragrance
- Use soap sparingly or at least with pH of 5.5-6.5
- Give short cool baths
- Ensure use of safe products
I am glad that Cetaphil, the brand that I have grown up with has already made a line of products for babies. They have shampoo, body wash, lotion and wipes.
Shampoo. It has natural chamomile which helps promote relaxation and sleep in children. It is tear-free, soap-free, hypoallergenic and pH balanced. It smells good and gentle to my son's skin. There was no irritation that occurred.
Gentle and Moisturizing Wash. It contains Aloe Vera, Almond Oil, Glycerin and Panthenol which helps retain mositure and keep the skin moisturized. It also has mild scent which are not irritating to the skin.
Lotion. It has shea butter which helps keep skin smooth, moisturized and reduce inflammation. In fairness to this one, it is not that sticky which I veer away from lotions, and gentle to my son's skin.
These line of products have been in the market for as long as I can remember and continously improve their products. They have been trusted by so many mommies for their babies even first time mom celebrity--Kaye Abad. According to her, it is better to spend more on her baby's needs and know that it works, to which I agree.
With my three kids, there were several skin problems that I encountered with them. But the most common is when all of them had dry skin during their first few months and I am glad I used Cetaphil during those time. It made my kids' skin moist until such time it became moist.
What about you, how do you take care of your baby's skin? Let me know in the comment section below.
