A Closer Walk With The Lord

Aside from going to church and spending time with people who share your spiritual beliefs, there are a few creative ways that you can grow in your walk with God. Prayer is a way that you can communicate with the Lord just as you would a friend or family member. You can pray to Him at any time, talking as though you were on the phone or visiting His house.

When you think about how to connect with God, think about the ways that you can show who He is to others. Spend time volunteering at a soup kitchen or at an organization so that you can help others. Take a day off so that you can rest and contact people who might need someone to talk to because they don't have anyone else. Unplug your phone and electronics so that you can spend time in a quiet setting. This will make it easier to listen to what God is saying instead of hearing all of the other bits and pieces of information from around the world.

Consider eating temple food so that you can discover what it was like living in the time that Jesus walked the earth. Instead of eating foods that aren't healthy for your body, enjoy foods that are pleasing to it, such as fruits and vegetables. If you do need a few foods that aren't as healthy, remember to thank God for providing them just as you would for providing the healthy food choices that you have as well. Do a few things to take care of the earth that God has given to you. Plant a new tree in your yard, or plant a few flowers to beautify your yard. You can also coordinate with other people at your church or with your family to volunteer your time to help others just as Jesus has provided for you.
