January was a busy month for all of us. It was filled with happy and sad events. One of which was my daughter's 7th birthday. A few months prior, I thought we already settled for a Unicorn party and when I asked her about it again, she wanted to go to the beach instead. I was literally left with two weeks to prepare everything. I wanted a beach resort which is only at least two hours drive away from Manila, but since we are only left with two weeks, Beach resorts close to Manila are all fully booked.
So the next most promising beach resort I have booked is Matabungkay Hotel and Beach Resort. It was four hours drive away from Manila and booked the room accomodation near the beach. I made our booking using Agoda App because it is way more convenient to compare hotels and their facilities, prices and location.
Check-in. Check-in took only 5 minutes. They only asked for the downloaded copy of booking from Agoda, and asked to be sent to their email address. Just in case you don't have mobile data, they will give you access to their wifi. Shortly after, we were brought to our room.
Room Accomodation. The room that I booked was adjacent to the beach. It was quite small but has bunk beds which is a double bed and one queen bed. It has a mini bar, a decent space for bathroom and comfort room. It has also a couch outside the room where you can hang out. They have comfortable sheets and pillows and each bed has two pillows. I am not sure though if they will charge you if you ask for additional pillows.

Food. The room I booked comes with free breakfast and the breakfast is in their restaurant and bar near the check-in counter. They also have a small cafe which offers coffee and cakes. Their restaurant offers Filipino Food and comes with a decent price and amount of servings.
These are the food we ordered during the night of my daughter's birthday.

Pool. They have three pools. One is adjacent to the hotel rooms and the biggest one. It is 5 feet deep and the far end is about approximately 6 inches deep where your babies and kids can definitely enjoy. It is also adjacent to a bar where you can order alcoholic beverages or other refreshing drinks. The second pool is adjacent to the restaurant and has provision for tables, chairs and umbrella. The pool is also 5 feet deep. They also have a kiddie pool which is approximately 2 feet deep and has mini slides on the other side. This is where my kids enjoyed a lot, but you have to stay with your children to avoid untoward incidents.

Beach. The beach is pretty calm and has cream sand color. The sand is quite fine, but since their area is full of corals, tiny stones are drifted ashore. I like how the beach resort maintains the cleanliness of the beach because you will not see any garbage near the area and they are very strict with the waste disposal.

How to get there.
Overall. I highly recommend this beach resort. They have a very excellent customer service. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. I also like that they really check the vicinity very well. My husband left his eyeglasses in one of the pool benches and realized it was missing the next day. We looked elsewhere and didn't occur to us to ask the front desk and was very happy that they safe keep it. Pets are not allowed, however, they consider it provided you will have to pay an additional fee of P1,500 per day (please clarify this to the hotel as my memory might not serve me right).
Been there 15 years ago na yata. Sooo tagal na pala. This time sana makabisita uli kasama na ang little one ko.
