Fun Nostalgic Games at Solitaire.org

Image
After a day of work, rearing the children, and endless chores, I reward myself by playing games. Playing has always been my past time which I enjoy together with my kids. It is one of the bondings we enjoy as a family with the husband because we share strategies for playing our games. But being a mom born in the '80s, I still long for those we play during my time. When I had our first desktop computer in high school, we only had one game back then, a Solitaire game. It only had one version, but we never grew tired of it. We even played it using cards over and over again.  I discovered a website where we can play nostalgic games, and I am so delighted to share with you what I have played so far; I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did. Solitaire.org has a lot of games wherein people born in the '80s will be able to relate. They are not just limited to Solitaire and the different versions of card games, but they also have some of my favorites! Solitaire Who wouldn't love th...

Teachable Moment With Kids: Needs vs Wants

Image
My kids and I have a lot of bonding moments at home, especially now that we are in the second year of this pandemic. They have seen its effects, the limitations, and the people that have been due to the virus. This season is also a perfect time to teach the kids financial literacy since our business is affected during this pandemic. Since they were young, I started teaching them about money. As a parent, it is one of the primary life skills children must learn at home to manage their liquid assets properly. Even in their younger years, I let them use their piggy bank. Any coin that they get changes from the food they buy. They already keep it in their piggy banks.  But how soon must we teach our kids proper money management? As soon as my kid starts to count and recognize money and when they begin receiving monetary allowances, I should start teaching them the importance of money and how to manage it wisely. Before teaching our kids proper money management, they have to learn the d...

Hidilyn Diaz: Winning the gold is just the beginning

Image
Winning the gold medal is the definitive goal of any Olympic athlete. For 30-year-old Hidilyn Diaz, getting the gold was not the final aspiration but a part of a bigger purpose – that is to inspire all Filipinos to aim high in everything they do.  Filipinos all over the world celebrated Diaz’s achievement when she took home the country’s first ever gold from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. A year after, she competed in 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics, followed by the 2012 London Olympics then in the 2016 Rio Olympics. In 2018, she was present in the Asian Games and then finally, in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.  Like many people, Diaz experienced physical pain and extreme fatigue from her rigorous training. Not to include that she was away from her fami...
